What's the logic behind the new NFL kickoff rule?

Lol, I don't agree with the rule but many people don't understand why it was put in place. Owners believe( through research) that a high percentage of injuries occur during kickoffs. By kicking off 5 yards further and having no running starts it will decrease the speed of the players and less speed=less force and weaker impacts of players. So in there minds less injuries.
