Beginner at driving, hard to turn the car?

I've only driven 3 times and I've definitely improved on my turning. I find it hard to turn when fully stopped though, I feel like I turn too slowly since I have to start back up on the gas (I have a heavy foot?). I like turning when I have some speed/momentum since I don't really have to stop. Also, is it bad to let go of the wheel when letting it straighten out? I feel like if I use my hands it'll take forever or I might think about it too much and mess up.. Advice?
